Full-mouth reconstruction, also referred to as full-mouth restoration and Smile 360, involves a comprehensive approach. It is designed to replace missing teeth, repair damaged teeth, correct improperly aligned jaw joints and bites, reverse gum disease, rebuild lost jawbone mass, replace worn out dental appliances with dental implants, and most importantly, create the most gorgeous smiles that look relaxed and proportional to your face.
Smile 360 with Dr. Frey involves looking at the entire mouth, not just the visible teeth. It will do so much more than just make a beautiful smile, as we re-build the bite by placement of implants to repositioning the bite due to TMJ stresses, from using orthodontics to move the teeth to using bone grafts to rebuild the jawbone, full-mouth reconstruction, Smile 360 is an involved process. Dr. Frey can handle most of what is needed, depending on your unique situation, of course, but he may also enlist the work of esteemed endodontists, oral surgeons, and periodontists at his office since we are a multi-speciality practice!

What Procedures May Be Involved With Full-Mouth Restoration?
Full-mouth reconstruction better known as Smile 360 with Dr. Frey isn’t a one-appointment situation. You have to make sure all aspects of the dental pie have been addressed before you can begin. Are your gums healthy? Is your bite good? Multiple phases and office visits may be necessary in advance to embarking on the Smile 360 procedure. The entire process may take different amounts of time to complete, depending on your situation. Once you are ready and all aspects of your dental pie have been addressed, we like to perform the Smile 360 procedure in two major visits that are spaced two weeks apart. Full-mouth reconstruction or the Smile 360 procedure can include any combination of the following procedures before we start:
● Implant dentistry — Implants to replace missing teeth, and to provide anchor points for appliances such as bridges
● Cosmetic dentistry — Porcelain veneers, bonding, teeth whitening, gum re-contouring
● Neuromuscular dentistry — Correction of TMJ related problems and realignment of the bite
● Bruxism treatment — Measures to end bruxism (tooth grinding)
● Oral surgery— dental implants and extractions
● Endodontic treatment— Root canals Periodontal treatments — Gum scaling, root planting, and periodontal surgery to address gum disease, soft and hard tissue bone grafting

These are some possible issues that lead to full-mouth restoration:
● Multiple teeth that have been lost due to extensive decay or trauma
● Generalized gum problems
● A mouth full of old and different crowns and fillings from many generations

Full-mouth reconstruction combines our expertise in both neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry for a healthy and natural smile that will last.
Smile makeovers are generally elective procedures, utilizing dental procedures such as the placement of porcelain veneers or dental implants to improve the overall smile. Smile makeovers are cosmetic, meant to give the patient a beautiful smile. They only involve the teeth that show in the smile and do not take other issues into account.
Full-mouth reconstruction, on the other hand, is necessary if the patient wants to keep his or her teeth and not lose significant amounts of the jawbone to erosion. Full-mouth reconstruction can reverse a patient’s declining oral health.

At our office, we strive to make every procedure as comfortable as possible. Modern anesthesia and techniques make most procedures very comfortable.
