Your smile is usually the first thing people notice when meeting you – so having a smile that looks healthy and natural is important. But a beautiful smile can’t last if teeth and gums aren’t healthy so we’ll also talk about brushing, flossing (you know you have to), and general oral health care.
It seems that every week new research is confirming the link between good oral health and good overall health. Oral bacteria can travel throughout the body and have serious health consequences. We’ll be sharing this new research as quickly as we can because the more information you have, the better you can take a proactive part in improving your own health.
A special emphasis you may notice is a lot of blog posts about the importance of sleep. It seems like 2012 is the Year of Sleep in the healthcare field and dentists are playing an important role in treating sleep breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea. We will try to educate readers about this dangerous disorder, the health consequences of avoiding treatment and options for treatment if you are intolerant of CPAP.
Of course, since this is Beverly Hills we will also be talking about cosmetic dentistry. We’ll probably include some information you didn’t know about smile makeovers and how a smile makeover by a neuromuscular dentist can eliminate chronic headaches and jaw pain.
