Dental Implants Fill The Gap In Beverly Hills

Losing a tooth used to mean having a gap in your smile or having your dentist create a “dental bridge” to span the gap. Today in our Beverly Hills cosmetic dentistry office we can replace that missing tooth with a dental implant that will feel and act just like a natural tooth.

The implant is a small device that is inserted into the jaw and acts like a tooth root – it looks similar to a small screw. Following insertion of the implant, a replacement tooth, a special type of dental crown, is placed over the implant and the new tooth is complete. Dental implants can replace one tooth, several teeth or even used to anchor a complete set of dentures.

A good candidate for dental implants should be in good overall health and the jawbone must be healthy enough to hold the implants in place. Gum health is also important  for dental implants.

Of course we still offer the dental bridge for replacing missing teeth. Dental bridges, sometimes called partial dentures, attach to the teeth next to the missing tooth or teeth  and “bridge” the distance. Dental bridges may be fixed in place or removable. There are also bridges that are affixed to dental implants.

The best choice for replacing your missing tooth or teeth is a decision that must be made in conjunction with your dentist. Not every patient or every case is appropriate for a bridge or a dental implant but we can work together to make the best decision for your needs.

Please contact Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist Dr. David Frey today at 310-276-4537 today to schedule a consultation. We’ll be happy to discuss your options for replacing missing teeth and our cosmetic dentistry options will give you back your beautiful smile.
