Sleep Dentistry

Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew without pain. If you’re apprehensive about dental visits, checkups, or procedures, we encourage you to try sedation or sleep dentistry to help you feel more comfortable. Once you’ve tried it, you won’t be afraid to visit the dentist ever again.

How will sedation dentistry feel?

It feels like you’re snoozing, and you won’t feel any pain or discomfort. When you wake up, you will feel refreshed with little to no memory of the experience.

Can sedation dentistry be used to accelerate dental treatment?

Yes. More complex procedures can require multiple dental appointments, but sedation dentistry allows us to perform more work in a shorter amount of time. Remember: there’s no pain or discomfort. Sore gums can be rejuvenated, crowns and dentures can be replaced, yellow or stained teeth can be whitened and brightened, and chipped teeth can be bonded – all while you’re asleep.

Who should consider sleep or sedation dentistry?

Everyone can be a candidate for sleep dentistry. Multiple procedures can be completed in one visit or appointment, and those who are uncomfortable with dental work can relax and doze during their visit. If you’re interested, we will make sure it’s the right option for you.

How does sedation dentistry work?

It’s simple: you’re given a small pill to take 1 hour before your appointment, and you will feel very drowsy by the time you arrive. At the office, you’re given a thick, warm blanket, and we make sure you’re absolutely comfortable.

Will I need a companion to drive me to and from the appointment?

Yes. Because you will be sedated, it’s important that a companion be available to drive you to and from the appointment.
